I recently got a "strong warning" from the folks at Google telling me that the miniscule amount of money I make from the ads on this site is in danger because of some popular pictures I posted on this site a few years ago. Apparently, despite containing no graphic nudity, I have been publishing adult content. Who knew that a picture from a mainstream fashion magazine could be so controversial? Google told me that their definition of adult content includes, but is not limited to, pages with images or videos containing:
- Strategically covered nudity
- Sheer or see-through clothing
- Lewd or provocative poses
- Close-ups of breasts, buttocks, or crotches
I have responded by removing the offending photos and linking to them instead. But, I also learned from Google that " the URL above is just an example and that the same violations may exist on other pages of this website or other sites that you own." Furthermore, "to reduce the likelihood of future warnings from us, we suggest that you review all your sites for compliance."
But no, I'm not going to do that. To Hell with them. To. Hell. With. Them.
