Eurovision Totty, Part Deux
Nul points to Eurovision Televoters for not sending Michele Perniola, representing San Marino (pictured above) and Eduard Romanyata, representing Moldova (below) on to the finals. Fun fact: Michele is not from San Marino, and Eduard is not from Moldova. I was also sad to see Denmark's Anti Social Media, with their cute ginger frontman, get an early dismissal. Finally, let me just say this: Serbia was robbed.
Oh, and one last thing. This guy, playing out of competition with Martin Grubinger and the Percussive Planet Ensemble. Golly.

Eurovision Totty
Loïc Nottet, a 19-year-old singer from Belgium, wasn't the only hotty on last night's Eurovision Song Contest semi-final last night, but he's the only one who advanced to the finals. I don't think his number, which was very Dieter from Sprocketts, will win, but I like him. Video below.

Get Your Love On
If you are looking for a nice Korean drama to pass the time away (and who isn't?) and your main concern is eye candy, you could do worse than High School Love On. It stars Nam Woo-hyun (남우현)
and Lee Sung-yeol (이성열).
Both are members of a seven-member boyband called Infinite, both are as yummy as can be.

SYTYCD Boys
Here, In alphabetical order, are the top ten boys from this year's So You Think You Can Dance. I already know which dancer I most want to schtup, and which dancers I consider to be the cutest, the prettiest, and the best at dancing, but I don't have a clue as to who is going home first. Anybody else watching?

Actor I Could Become Obsessed With
When 19-year-old Ian Nelson appeared on Teen Wolf last season in flashbacks as the teenage version of Tyler Hoechlin's character Derek Hale, he kind of broke the internet. The social networks went crazy with breathless appreciation of Ian, and if you've seen the episode you'd understand why, because he was seriously dreamy, and it didn't hurt that it was one of the best episodes of the series, ever. It was sexy, romantic, tragic, and anchored by Ian Nelson's terrific performance . Not surprisingly, MTV has come up with an excuse to bring back Young Derek, at least for one episode. Although the episode, which aired this week, hasn't garnered quite the frenzied response Ian's first appearance received (to be fair, the episode simply wasn't as good as the previous one) it served to reminded me how much I like him, and not just because he's awfully good-looking. I'm not quite ready to declare him a future ex-husband of mine just yet, but he has a few upcoming projects that I will be keeping a close eye on.

Odds And Ends
Just some things that have been on my mind lately:
There aren't many TV shows that I like well enough to watch on commercial TV, but one of them is The Fosters on ABC Family. There are lots of reasons to like this show, not the least of which is that Jake T. Austin takes his shirt off a lot. Like, a lot.

The other show I never want to miss is So You Think You Can Dance, because a) I love dancing, and b) I love dancers. Live shows start this week, and I haven't yet settled on a favorite, but if Ricky Ubeda doesn't make the finals I will be very surprised. If you ask me, So You Think You Can Dance would be even better if they eliminated the competition aspect of the show and just let these amazing dancers dance for two hours, but no one asked me.

Because I am twelve years old at heart, I have been reading a series of books by Jennifer A. Nielsen called The Ascendance Trilogy (The False Prince, The Runaway King, and The Shadow Throne). This is a "boy's own adventure" with everything you could hope for: love, death, court intrigue, hidden identities, lots of fighting, and a very likable and relatable lead character. And yes, it is intended for children. So sue me, I loved it. Incidentally, a film version of The False Prince is currently in the works, and I can hardly wait to see how Hollywood screws it up.
If you liked The Ascendance Trilogy, there's an similar, but even better series by Megan Whalen Turner, known as The Queens Thief. Four books so far, starting with The Thief. Mrs. Turner takes her sweet time between books, so even though it has been four years since the last in the series, A Conspiracy of Kings, was published, we shouldn't expect book number four for a few more years. Totally worth the wait, though.
Two of my very favorite Korean actors currently have dramas airing. They are Lee Seun Gi in You Are All Surrounded, and Lee Jong Suk in Doctor Stranger. Thank you Drama Fever.

Summertime, and all I want to eat is corn-on-the-cob, watermelon, and just about any kind of meat, grilled.

| This will do, but that's not nearly enough watermelon. |
What's your all time favorite summer jam? I'd like to make a case for Rock The Boat by The Hues Corporation, which topped the Billboard chart 40 years ago this week.
Speaking of Disco, I've noticed that You Can't Stop The Music, the classic bad movie starring The Village People, is on Netflix. It really is craptastic.
I have to make a plea for my personal favorite super-bad disco move, and that's Roller Boogie starring Linda Blair and Jim Bray in (strangely) his one and only film role.

| What's next for Jim Bray? I don't know, but it isn't more movies. |
Jim Bray may have been the male lead of Roller Boogie, but it was a shirtless scene involving Stoney Jackson that really seared itself into my brain. In the parlance of the time, he was foxy.
Roller Boogie, the entire movie, is on YouTube (for now) if you are interested, but don't say I didn't warn you.
I saw the trailer for The Maze Runner, and was surprised by how much I really want to see it, and not just because it's full of hot guys, including Dylan O'Brien, whose bath water I would gladly drink.
On the other hand, the trailer for The Giver kind of pissed me off, Even though Brenton Thwaites is quite a honey.

Finally, I haven't been to a movie since The Fault In Our Stars came out a few weeks ago. What's out there right now that won't make me want to pluck my eyeballs out? Anything? And don't say The Transformers, because I've been burned before.

Here's A New Reason To Watch Game of Thrones
Game of Thrones has always been a hotbed of gorgeous male flesh of all ages, but the new addition of 16-year-old Dean-Charles Chapman as Tommen Baratheon certainly grabbed my attention in this week's episode, even though he had no dialogue.
Dean-Charles is a theater veteran, having played Billy Elliot in the West End, as well as several other boy characters in the show, including my favorite, Michael. He also played the title role in the CBBC children's sitcom-with-not-very-subtle-science-lessons-included, The Revolting World of Stanley Brown. But more importantly, he has an Instagram account. You can thank me later.

That Was Unexpected...
Glee has been known, in its five seasons on the air, to display the naked torsos of its male cast with great regularity. One person who has managed to remain entirely covered up for all that time has been Chris Colfer, as gay saint Kurt Hummel. Last night that situation was remedied, and come to find out, Mr. Colfer has a perfectly nice body. I like Chris Colfer, from what I've seen of him, but I've never thought of him as sexy. This is nice, though. I like.

When Bad Shows Happen To Good People
![]() |
| "Just wait 'til I get my hands on my agent." |
I gave it a try, but there is no getting around the fact that Reign, The CW's new show about Mary, Queen of Scots and friends, is an epic fail, in spite of the welcome presence of Mr. Toby Rego as Francis II of France. In truth, Francis was a sickly child, who died, sixteen years of age, less than two years into his reign. Don't tell the folks at The CW, though, as they prefer him as a energetic and strapping young lad who will live until the show is canceled in six weeks.
I give the show a bit of a pass for it's historical accuracy, but they really aren't even trying here. The costumes, makeup, and hairstyles are laughably modern. The show takes place in France, but everyone speaks with an English accent. The music is modern, which doesn't bother me in the least, but seems to drive a lot of people to distraction. And all of this would hardly matter if the story would be told in a compelling manor. Instead we get Pretty Little Monarchs. It doesn't help at all that Adelaide Kane, upon whose shoulders the show must rest, is such a wet dishrag of an actress.
Toby is still pretty. He tries his hardest to bring boring and risible dialogue to life. And he's pretty. He's really pretty.
